Hi, I'm sure you have a good motive to give away iPod for those who bring the highest no of ppl, but my friend, when I see this it make me feel that you are trading or another word it seem more like gambling or bribery (Rasuah) in the kingdom of God . Why do I say that, we should make disciples and trained them to share abt salvation, this should be created and build in them to bring their friends to church or share the greatest love giver of All that is JESUS.
ReplyDeleteYou are making an awareness that as long I bring anyone will do and I win the great prize….Paul says that he fought a good fight and finish the race…..what does that mean bro…. it require us to work for his kingdom in the mist of sinners. Why don't you change your strategy that the highest no. of non-believer will receive the prize…That would make some sense cause, we know for the fact that salvation is been told and who ever making that effort have made the way for that person to receive Christ and he or she has a record….When we enter God’s kingdom….God is not going to ask us how many ppl you bring church to win the prize…..instead he is going to ask, HOW MANY HAVE YOU ADDED TO THE KINGDOM OF GOD…..It is two different thing. I hope you could look into this matter and try not do such a thing that will cause pain in the heart of God.
One more point, Just assume I a non-believer. I was invited by my friend to the meeting and God move in a special way in me and I receive salvation and later I come to know that the friend that invited me did it not to glorify God’s name but achieve the prize…….It going to puzzle and going to send an wrong signal to the non-believer….Try not do such a mistake…..Heaven is watching us….

Well well...I think the ipod thing is really cool...I'd say its something very relevant to the young ppl out there...If you wana win ppl to Jesus, u hv to actually b able to 'appeal' to them to a certain extent(i'm sure there's a better wrd for that but cant think of it at the moment..lol)...in order to 'appeal to them, u hv to b relevant..Jesus was relevant to the ppl he spoke to and he met, which made them so attracted to Him..Y wouldn't today's generation wana imitate Jesus...?
ReplyDeleteI see that the motive of bringing ppl and motivating the youth to bring their friends is to give the young ppl a chance to b touched by Jesus in a special way.. we just need to put in the effort to invite ppl and bring them...Then Jesus will do the work of changing their lives...It doesn't matter if the young ppl hv the wrong motive in inviting their friends..God can work thru many ways to draw ppl to Himself.
I strongly believe that out of the crowd of ppl that turn up at this event, God will draw many into His kingdom for His glory..In fact, God has already hand-picked those who will turn up on that day...so ipod or no ipod, God has His master plan all set and EVERYONE who turns up that day will come closer to knowing Jesus although at different levels.
for the non-believers, i dnt think it would actually bother them if they got saved n found out that they were invited for a reward coz by then they would appreciate their friend for giving then the chance to meet Jesus..that's a much better trade for an ipod i wud say:)
I take my hat off to the organizing committee of this event.This is what the younger generation need, a chance to come face to face with the most awesome Friend the world could ever noe..Young ppl today are looking for friendship everywhere, and what better place to find it than in the friendship of Jesus.Let's not be quick to judge the passion of other young ppl who desperately want to win their generation for Jesus.Rather, y dnt we uphold this event in prayer..trusting God that He will add souls into His Kingdom..After all, when ppl get saved we just become a much bigger and happier family that has a higher chance of bringing more ppl to Jesus;-)
I'm not posting this comment to start a debate here coz i'm in no position of doing that..All I'm trying to say here is that, God has put creativity in the minds of His children and they work on that creativity for His glory so whatever the strategy, the young ppl are closely guided by Pastors and adults who can be trusted:).God works in mysterious ways!! so Y cant we be radical in loving Jesus?..
I will uphold this event in prayer and although I will not b able to attend, I'm excited to hear testimonies of Jesus' awesome work in Johor Bahru. Take care, God Bless and take His word to another level:)
